DGCA Air Regulations Classes

Rules of the air, the ICAO framework, licensing, air traffic services and operational requirements, organised so that the rules are connected rather than a list of numbers.

  • Unlimited 1-on-1 sessions
  • Weekly subject-wise tests
  • First-attempt pass guarantee

How the Air Regulations class works

Regulations looks like a memory test, but it becomes manageable when you know how the system fits together: ICAO sets the standards, the State makes the rules, and the operator turns them into procedures.

Classes group the material by Annex and by situation, then drill the numbers that really get asked until they stick.

Taught by Nikunj Kariya as part of the full TrueHeading course (₹50,000 for all five subjects, down from ₹80,000), with the student website for practice.

What the Air Regulations paper covers

12 topics, 1,316 practice questions. Tap a topic to practise it.

Key ideas to know

  • Annex map1 licensing, 2 rules of the air, 3 meteorology, 6 operations, 8 airworthiness, 11 ATS, 13 accident investigation, 14 aerodromes, 17 security, 18 dangerous goods.
  • Right of wayHead-on: both turn right. Converging: the aircraft with the other on its right gives way. Overtaking: keep the overtaken aircraft on your left.
  • SSR emergency codes7700 emergency, 7600 radio failure, 7500 unlawful interference.
  • AirspaceClass A to E are controlled. IFR only in A. VFR needs a clearance in B, C and D.
  • FuelTaxi, trip, contingency (5 % of trip), alternate, final reserve (30 minutes at holding speed for turbine aeroplanes) and any additional fuel.
  • Runway numbersThe magnetic heading rounded to the nearest 10° and divided by 10, so 094° is runway 09.

Common mistakes

  • Learning numbers without knowing which document they come from.
  • Mixing ICAO standards with the DGCA CAR requirements.
  • Skipping the shorter Annexes (13, 17, 18) that yield easy marks.
  • Not checking for recent amendments. Always confirm against current DGCA and ICAO publications.
