Crosswind

Head, tail and crosswind components for a runway and a wind.

Runway heading is up. The wind arrow is split into a component along the runway (head/tail wind) and across it (crosswind): headwind = speed × cos(angle), crosswind = speed × sin(angle). The rule of thumb uses 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 and full wind speed for about 20°, 30°, 45° and 60°+ off the runway. Dashed lines mark the crosswind limit.
