Wind triangle
Solve heading, ground speed or wind on a true north-up vector diagram.
Air vector (true heading, TAS) + wind vector = ground vector (track, ground speed). The second mode works the triangle backwards from a measured heading, track and ground speed to find the wind. Magnetic heading = true heading − easterly variation (East is least, West is best).
