Holding patterns
Random hold clearance. See which entry sector you are in, then fly it.

The shaded wedges are the three entry sectors around the fix. The wedge you are in lights up and tells you which entry to use when you reach the fix. Fly there, do the entry, then fly the racetrack with 1-minute legs. The trail is grey on approach, green within tolerance of the ideal track and red when you drift off. Wind pushes you off the racetrack, so crab into it. Keys: ←/→ heading · Space pause.

The three entries
Drawn for the hold you are flying now, with the inbound course up. The coloured wedge is where you arrive from.
How to remember it. Draw the 70° line through the fix, at 70° to the inbound course. The side opposite the holding pattern (the big 180° wedge, behind the fix) is Direct. The wedge on the holding side is Parallel (110°). The small wedge on the other side of the inbound course is Teardrop (70°). Flip the turn direction for a left-hand hold, and the picture mirrors.
