DME & Arcs
Fly a constant-distance arc around a VOR/DME · fictional station · north-up
Intercept the dashed arc and hold it within ±1 nm. The trail is green on the arc, red off it, and grey until you first capture it. Turn radius at standard rate ≈ groundspeed ÷ 188 nm. Changing the radius restarts the exercise. Keys: ←/→ heading · Space pause.

- Fly a constant-distance arc around a VOR/DME.
- Keep the arc within 1 nm and see how the turn radius depends on speed.
- Use the autopilot to see the ideal path.
Exam point
DME measures slant range, not ground distance, and the error is largest when you are close to the station at high altitude. Turn radius at standard rate is about groundspeed divided by 188 nm.
