A320 Fuel System
Five tanks, pumps, transfer valves and the crossfeed. Run the engines and watch where the fuel comes from, then fix an imbalance.
Click a pump or the crossfeed valve to switch it. Quantities and limits are illustrative, so the real values are in your FCOM.

Fuel4 cardsWhat to try
- Press Run the engines on Normal flight and watch the fuel come from the centre tank first, then from the inner wing tanks.
- Click the pumps to switch them off one by one. One working pump per side is enough, and with none the engine is on gravity feed.
- Open the crossfeed and switch off the pumps on one side: both engines now use the other side.
- Run the Fuel imbalance scenario and fix it yourself, then close the crossfeed again.
Exam point
Centre tank first, to relieve the wing bending loads. Outer cells empty into the inner cells when the inner cell is low. The crossfeed is normally shut. For an imbalance, open it and turn off the pumps on the lighter side. The numbers here are illustrative, so the limits are in your FCOM.
