Weight & Balance
Load a generic 4-seat trainer · moment, CG and envelope check · illustrative data in kg and metres
Method used in the DGCA PPL/CPL syllabus: moment = weight × arm, CG = total moment ÷ total weight, then check the point against the weight limit and the forward/aft CG limits. The landing point uses fuel burned. Data is illustrative, so always use your aircraft's approved flight manual and weighing schedule.

- Load the front seats, rear seats, baggage and fuel and see the CG move.
- Check the point against the weight limit and the forward and aft CG limits.
- Compare take-off and landing CG after the fuel burn.
Exam point
CG = total moment divided by total weight. Moving weight aft moves the CG aft and makes the aeroplane less stable. Use the fuel burn to check the landing point too.
