Fuel4 cardsWhat to try
- Run the engines in Normal flight and see the centre tank used first, then tanks 1 and 2.
- Use the Centre tank empty scenario: the LOW PRESSURE lights come on. Switch the centre pumps off.
- Fix the Fuel imbalance yourself with the crossfeed and the pump switches, then close the crossfeed.
- Start the APU and see which tank it uses.
Exam point
Centre tank first, because its pumps have a higher pressure. Switch the centre pumps off when the LOW PRESSURE lights stay on. To balance, open the crossfeed and switch off the pumps of the lighter tank. The APU feeds from the left side. Quantities and limits here are illustrative, so check your FCOM.
